Jerky.com searches far and wide to find unique products that our customers will love. Part of what makes some of our products unique are the exotic (ie, not very common) nature of them. Unfortunately, the laws of supply and demand can rear their ugly heads from time to time and can cause inventory problems for us. For example, Beef, Turkey and Pork have a much higher demand than something like Alligator meat...therefore, the supply of Beef is far greater and constant than the supply for Alligator. Because of this difference in supply, some of our products can quickly go in and out of stock. We call these types products "seasonal products". Two of our most commonly asked about seasonal products are Alligator Jerky and Ostrich Jerky.

Sometimes the supply of high quality alligator meat is so low that we either can't get it at reasonable rates or the quality isn't good enough for us to make a product with our name on it. Historically, this seems to be about twice a year and lasts around a month or two.

Ostrich is another story. We have been in a World-wide shortage of raw ostrich meat for over a year now. We have been able to get our hands on a few packages of meat from time to time...but usually, the price (if available) is astronomical. There isn't any light at the end of this tunnel yet, but we remain optimistic.

So, what does this mean to you???

A few things:

1. If you see either of these in stock and you have interest in them...BUY THEM while you can! Seriously. We hate to sound sales pitch-y, or aggressive salesman like...but it's the truth.

2. Some of our combos or gift packages are built with these products in them. If a seasonal product is out of stock and one of these combos are ordered, we will substitute the item for something of equal or greater value...and usually with something exotic, if available. Please be aware of this substitution policy for seasonal products and contact us before your purchase if you have any questions or concerns about the availability of a specific item in an order.

3. Sign up for our newsletter and you will be the first to know when an out-of-stock item is back in stock. Our newsletter peeps are always the first to know everything!
