All of my favorite jerky flavors have lots of pepper. I picked some of my favorite varieties and combined them into one smokin' recipe! Every ingredient is designed to make the smoked paprika flavor shine-- with some extra heat and flavor.
A FRESHLY-DICED serrano pepper punches through also, to balance things out and make your mouth sing! I was careful about editing some ingredients that didn't fit here, but overall I included every savory flavor I've ever loved. ENJOY!

Slice the eye of round to desired thickness (i prefer 1/4")
Mix all other ingredients in bowl until sugar is dissolved
Add beef to marinade and mix thoroughly
Cover and refrigerate for at least 12 hours
Remove marinated strips, pat them dry with paper towel
Grind some fresh black pepper onto the pieces before hanging
Hang on rack and bake in oven at 170 degrees for at least 3 hours
Jerky is done when it bends stiffly but doesn't break
Recipe Note
Dried 'serrano powder' can definitely be used in place of a fresh pepper. Salt and 'chipotle powder' can be adjusted for personal preference Meat Thickness: 1/4" Machined Used: Any conventional oven.
