Apple Moonshine Pork Jerky made its debut on November 20, 2025 in our Keep It Or Kill It Drop series...a limited release where every new flavor stands trial in front of the Official Taste Testers. They tasted it, scored it, left their feedback, and ultimately decided whether this smooth apple-meets-moonshine experiment earned its place in the lineup or rode off into the sunset.
This flavor didnāt spark from one single suggestionā¦it grew out of years of campfire-style conversations inside the Taste Tester community. Moonshine had been tossed around again and again. Apple had always lingered in the background. Eventually the question stopped being āshould we?ā and became āhow do we do it right?ā Thatās when we decided to lean in and see if we could bottle that backwoods legend into a strip of pork jerky.
The goal with Apple Moonshine was smooth balance. Crisp apple sweetness up front, a mellow smoky warmth underneath, and just enough moonshine-inspired edge to keep it interesting without turning harsh. We wanted something bold but drinkable in jerky formā¦sweet, savory, and layered rather than loud. Once it dropped, the Taste Testers broke it down bite by bite...judging the sweetness, the warmth, and the overall harmony to decide if this orchard experiment deserved to stick around.
What began as a community suggestion turned into a full kitchen experiment...and as usual, the Taste Testers had the final word.
