For a family owned company that’s been producing premium steaks and quality gourmet products since 1917, Omaha Steaks always carries large expectations with every product they make. So it’s no surprise that their beef jerky would get a lot of attention from us and be put to the test in this week’s jerky spotlight. After all, the consumers are the only opinions that matter.
Like many of their other products, Omaha Steaks’ beef jerky appears to be a quality product from what I can tell by reading the ingredients and the nutritional information. The Original Bold Flavor as they like to call it is as simple of a recipe as you’re going to find in the jerky industry. I’m talking beef, water, black pepper and some natural preservatives such as salt. Yielding 9 grams of protein per serving you can tell that each cut of beef is of the premium grade. That’s why it was the winner of the 2000 New Product Pavilion, an honor that is bestowed by a panel of industry experts at the New York Premium Show.
Boasting an unconditional guarantee that you’ll love their jerky and having the respect of many as a fine retailer of meat products, Omaha Steaks beef jerky is something to be taken seriously by all jerky lovers. Packaged in 3 and 8 ounce sizes, these jerky products can be found online at OmahaSteaks.com. Half pound bags go for $12.99 and then $13.99 for shipping—bringing the total to $26.98.
So let us know what you think of this jerky and please…don’t leave anything to the imagination.

Guns don't kill people. Shipping does.
Slightly smokey!
Looks good to me.
I keep thinking cardboard. Surprisingly good!
Overall its a great jerky and worth the cost. Not sure about the shipping though.
Has a nice amount of black pepper for a nice taste.
Quality is what you would expect with those ingredients.
Not really tough but very dry.
Way too expensive for what you get. The shipping was more expensive than the product for crying out loud. It totally didnt meet my expectations of what I'm use to Omaha Steaks producing. Boo :(
for an original flavored jerky, the peppery taste comes through way too much. This is very misleading to people who dont like a lot of spice in their jerky products.
each one off-sets the other since this jerky is inconsisent in my eyes, ingredients say quality, but the meat doesnt taste it.
has a rubbery consistency that i dont care too much for in a jerky, its pliable, but not in a good way. the meat is also a little on the dry side for me, even though the meat flavor and the spices really come through. I think i forgot to mention that it was too dry as well.
I really enjoy the taste of this jerky. The pepper flavor is the dominant flavor MAYBE a little overwhelming for some people...but I like it.
Good quality. Whole muscle jerky made in the U.S. The only thing holding it back from 5 stars on quality is the use of Sodium Nitrite
This is a traditional style jerky. It chews well...tears well.
