Introduced to the Buffalo Bills selection in 1994, the Short Shot Beef Sticks immediately made great first impressions with people of all ages and taste buds. It was clear that Buffalo Bills was no stranger to the meat snack category.
Currently available in 3 flavors, 1 of which you probably wouldn’t have guessed…Mild, this weeks feature Spicy, and Pepperoni. These all beef meat sticks have long been considered the snack food of choice because of there portability, mass appeal, and great flavoring.
Each 2 pound bag carries 120 unwrapped sticks and each stick is about 4 inches in length and roughly half the diameter of a dime. The price breakdown goes like this, 120 sticks (which is 2.1 pounds!) for less than $25 (shipped to your door I might add). Let me do the math for you…that’s .21 cents per stick.

You get a ton for the money. Great for parties and get-togethers, road trips, camping outings. Overall, a good meat stick with a great value.
Smokey, Meaty are the main flavors...with a hint of spicy. Its not burn-your-mouth spicy...it has a spicy flavor.
There are more artificial ingredients than I prefer (and more than most other Buffalo Bills products). I would also prefer a beef stick to be 100% beef with no fillers...but beef hearts is still better than the other guys 'mechanically seperated chicken' in their list of ingredients. Being made in the U.S. from U.S. raised beef is what saved it from a lower rating. I'll take the U.S. made stuff anytime!
The casing makes it firm and crunchy on the bite. But the actual meat is softer and more moist. Together they make a pretty middle-of-the-road texture.
Great value in my opinion, your money would go a long way for 120 quality meat sticks, now im curious about what the pepperoni flavored ones are like.
First thing i notice is the great consistency of the stick itself, it has a little bit of a slim jim snap to it, but it doesn't have any of the greasy film on it. There is a very slight spicy flavor that goes pretty well with the tasty casing. There is one other thing that jumps out at me though and thats a "soury" kinda aftertaste. Not sure what ingredient it might be, but a flavor is surely there.
I didnt give these the lowest possible quality simple because the ingredients are in line with most all of the meat sticks i've ever had, not to say that its a good or bad thing. The taste itself though is very beefy in my opinion even though it contains beef hearts well. Good quality overall i think.
I actually preferred these sitting out a little bit to harden up a little and create more a "snap". Would buy and recommend to anybody.
Overall its a great meat stick not only in the value but in taste. Its a pretty large bag with plenty in it.
It may not be as spicy as you would want but it makes up for it in taste.
I didn't have time to look at the ingredients while savoring the great taste.
Its got a good tenderness to it without being hard or too soft.
2.1lbs for 25 bucks is a nice deal. That's a good amount of beef.
Delicately tangy with barely any spice.
Mmmm beef hearts!
Snappy, chewy outside with a tender middle.
